Just Be

God Gold of the Day

“9 What do workers gain from their toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.

15 Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account”/ Ecclesiastes 3:9-15

What an awesome message! I know it’s a rainy day outside but not even that can keep the Son’s shine away!!! That’s the beauty in what God gives us in these verses. No matter what season of life, whether a time for mourning, a time for laughing, or even a time for dancing (Ecc. 3:1-8), “He has made everything beautiful in it’s time.” I just saw these verses and like Solomon mentions the different seasons of life we go through, no matter how bad we want to change the time of life God has put us in, we try to work our way out of a bad season and manipulate everything in our lives to provide ourselves with what we think we deserve, as comfort. These verses show that every season is a season in which God allows, we can never fully understand or experience the eternity that He has placed in the human heart, but we can have peace knowing the truth of His Word, He has given us eternity. That’s it!

I spend day after day typing these messages and some days I find myself struggling to comprehend the gift of life and eternity God has so graciously given us. If I find myself in a season that isn’t to my liking, I strap up my boots and go to work trying everything I can to figure out His plan and His Will. Solomon says it clearly, “I’ve seen the burden God has laid on the human race.” That burden can speak to a lot of different things but mainly it’s our need for security, love, and joy with the fact that we search high and low everyday to find these things in everything except the only One who can fulfill our needs. Thank God it’s not left up to how hard we work or how hard we strive for perfection in our lives. We can never achieve perfection, but God has offered us His Son, Jesus Christ, the perfect and loving Savior so instead of striving for the impossible, we can find our rest and confidence in Christ. As children of God, we don’t have to work super hard to make our lives better, to avoid rainy days, or even comprehend the magnitude of the eternity and love that He’s shown us. We can put our confidence in whatever time God has placed us in, knowing that He has made it beautiful. No matter how rainy or bad things look, we can put our trust in His perfect will that is so good, know that nothing can be added to it or taken away from it to make the love and beauty that He shows us any greater than it is right now in this moment. Throughout the different times of our life, we can work ourselves to death trying to accomplish or achieve perfection and comfort, or we can believe what God has spoken as truth to us. We can find our comfort in His beauty and His perfect plan for our lives, we can rejoice today in the view of the eternity He’s given us tomorrow. We can live freely and victoriously in His love because despite what it looks like right now, God has given us His perfect and loving Son, Jesus Christ and the Son shines through every season good or bad. My challenge for myself and you from this truth God has given us is to just be. Just be who God made you to be. Just be in the time God is taking you through. Just be with God. Trust in Him above all else, His perfect plan and the perfect gifts He’s given you, have confidence and peace in that. Enjoy today, enjoy this moment you have with God and just be with Him.
