God Gold of the Day

This is a piece of Old Gold that I had sent out awhile back but I’m excited to share it with you and I pray it can be an encouragement to you today!

Matthew 5:16/ In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

1 Corinthians 15:33/ “Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

Being a Christ-like example for others is something that I’ve personally struggled with and when put around bad situations the struggle becomes even bigger. In the world we live in, we are going to be put around bad associations or bad situations at some point or another. Sometimes I see myself as being more of a closet light, just a little light that barely gets seen while the rest of the house is dark. The Lord doesn’t want us to be closet lights. He has blessed us with the power of the Holy Spirit, so we can walk out His teachings from the Word and put them to use in any situation especially the bad ones. When we are trusting and walking in that power, we are too powerful to just be the closet light, He gives us the power that brings light throughout the whole house no matter how dark it is. Associating with people who also have the power is iron sharpening iron but that doesn’t mean we should shy away from the dark places cause that’s the chance to show how strong His light is. Jesus spent the majority of His ministry associating in the darkest of places cause when Jesus walked in the house, the house was LIT. We can have the faith of a closet light and barely shine, or we can have the faith of the power, in Jesus, making any house, situation, crowd of people LIT from how bright His light is shining through us. Let’s make it LIT!!!
