Son-day Surprise

God Gold of the Day

Heard this song as I was driving today and it could’ve been like any other song, I just listen along not really paying attention because my mind is already on what’s next. But hearing this song today, I don’t know what it was about this particular song but my ears perked up.

We always hear how powerful and great the name of Jesus is but do we really HEAR it in the truth and magnitude that His name stands??? It’s easy in our lives to get dumbed down to the name of Jesus and all it holds for us, whether we hear His name so much, we get distracted by our every day busy lives, or we don’t take the time to sit and be still, meditating on how truly GREAT the name of Jesus is!!!! Jesus can so often be just another name like Dave, Jim, or Tom, but the name of Jesus is so much more than just a name. It’s THE name above all names, it’s the name that saved us from the life we deserved giving us a life that is more abundant, eternal, and just plain out FREE! A life that we could have NEVER gained on our own. Jesus took the death we deserved so we could have LIFE, and LIFE to the fullest. Talk about a perspective shift!!!

While you’re listening to this song today, take some time and really take these lyrics in, she names off a few of the many causes that happens when the name of Jesus is involved. WOW!!!! Only the name of Jesus. How GREAT and AWESOME is His name!!!!

“Lost are saved, find their way
At the sound of your great name
All condemned feel no shame
At the sound of your great name
Every fear has no place
At the sound of your great name
The enemy, he has to leave
At the sound of your great name

Jesus, Worthy is the Lamb
That was slain for us, Son of God and Man
You are high and lifted up
That all the world will praise your great name

All the weak find their strength
At the sound of your great name
Hungry souls receive grace
At the sound of your great name
The fatherless, they find their rest
At the sound of your great name
Sick are healed and the dead are raised
At the sound of your great name”
