God Gold of the day

“You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.”

2 Samuel 22:29-30

I used to say this about my life, I feel like I’m stuck in a hole and every time I feel like I’ve started to dig my way out, I fall back in the hole even deeper. Myself just like many of you and many others around us in the world, there’s pieces of darkness in our lives whether we won’t to admit it or not. I used to have a lot of darkness, stuff I just couldn’t get past and it would have me going deeper and deeper into that hole. I would try so hard to dig myself out of the hole and fail every time when the Lord says, “with my help you can scale the walls.” How cool is that? He’s saying put down your shovel, you can’t dig your way back up to the surface, only with His help you can have the tools you need to climb, the guidance on which way to go, and the strength to keep moving forward leaving that life stuck in a hole farther and farther behind. I’m not saying I’ve got it all figured out cause I’m still falling back in the hole all the time, but what’s awesome now  that the Lord has made all my darkness LIT, I know He’s the way back out and He’s bigger than anything that pushes me into the hole. This isn’t important to me so I can tell people about my climbing skills, because I can’t climb at all. It’s important so I can tell people about the God who climbs for me and daily brings light to the darkest corners of my life. Without Him I’d be nothing. What gets me is that there’s so many people around us that are stuck in that same hole, they don’t know how to get out so they only dig deeper. I’m guilty of walking by and looking in at those people then just keep going about my day. At some point we all are, but we don’t have to be. We are God’s hands and feet. We can’t climb for someone else but we can point them to the one who climbs for them. Jesus Christ. I don’t know what your story is or how many holes you’ve had in your life but just know if you can’t get out, there’s only One who can help. And if God has already lifted you out of the hole, don’t just walk by someone else’s hole when they need you and Who you know. Honestly don’t just talk to them from outside the hole, get down in there and help them climb. Let’s stop digging and let’s climb with God together
