God Gold of the Day
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
“So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.”
“Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?”
These verses made me take a lot of inventory on my walk with the Lord. Questions I asked myself:
Am I fully sold out to the Lord or am I just partially committed some of the time?
How much does my life or lifestyle match with scripture?
How many worldly/trivial things do I focus on more than my relationship with Christ?
How much do I really practice what the Word preaches?
Am I following the world and what my flesh wants majority of my days or
Am I practicing what scripture says, embracing the gift of eternity, really and truly taking up my cross daily and following Jesus with everything I have?
What steps need to be taken to living life for the Lord?
